When the timing case cover is installed, the rubber seal will deform to properly seal the gaps between the cover and the seal. After years of exposure to extreme engine temperature fluctuations, the rubber will dry out, and lose its resiliency. For this reason, the seal must not be reused after removing the timing case cover. Be ready, and have this Ajusa seal on hand when it's time to pull the cover off.
