The South Bend Stage 2 Drag clutch kit uses a heavy duty pressure plate modified for use with a puck style clutch disc made with a Graphite Impregnated Ceramic friction material that has no cushion between the linings. The purpose of this kit is to offer an alternative to the stock clutch kit for cars producing up to 500ft-lb of torque, while retaining the stock dual mass flywheel (DMF).

If the intended use for this kit is drag racing, than a South Bend single mass flywheel (SMF) is absolutely necessary.

If the intention is to use the kit on the street, it must be understood that a clutch this aggressive will increase the harshness and decrease the comfort the driver has come to expect from the stock clutch. Using the stock DMF will certainly help tame some of that aggressiveness, but like any compromise, something will suffer. In this case, because the flywheel will take more abuse than it was designed for, its life will be reduced by some amount. How much it is reduced is directly related to how much it is abused: the more it is abused, the shorter its life.

This kit includes the clutch, pressure plate, pressure plate bolts, clutch alignment tool, and release bearing.
