The exhaust gas pressure sensor (AKA exhaust pressure differential sensor, particulate filter sensor) measures the difference in gas pressure between the intake and exhaust of the diesel particulate filter (DPF). If your DPF starts to fill up with carbon, this sensor is what lets you know.

If yours is faulty, replace it with this sensor from original equipment manufacturer (OEM) Bosch to get everything back to normal.
